As artists we train our brains to really use them to see the world as it is. As humans we use them to gain insight into the brain of other humans. If eyes are the windows to our souls then we should get a good grasp on representing them in paint.
Following the great class we had last night, we are going to be pushing further into portraiture over the next three classes. Each week taking the subject from a slightly different perspective and mood.
This coming Wednesday at Ustwo we shall be evoking the style of Francis Bacon!
In exploring Cubism we will be given insight into the techniques used by Cubists such as Picasso and Georges Braque. We will then be challenged to abstract from our own reality, finding and highlighting both the obvious and invisible angular pathways which dissect and interconnect the world around us.

This can be a very cathartic class and often produces totally unexpected results.
