Focus LDN’s debut exhibition The Art of Regeneration, was inspired by a collective reaction to a construction site surrounding an artist’s community in Waterloo. This group show unites a diverse group of artists interested in documenting iconic scenes of urban regeneration.
Raising questions of urban identity, the work in this exhibition suggests new ways of engaging with realities beyond the physical object. What impact does the revitalisation of our historic urban landscape have on our sense of cultural identity?
A show about cultural regeneration, we ask how the transitional nature of London affects our past, present and future. This intangible cultural heritage is represented via an impressive array of mixed media. From pen, ink and oils to large scale digital prints, The Art of Regeneration presents a collection of images synonymous with London’s identity.
Artists featured within the show include: Alexandra Sivov, Patrick Blower, Mark Mulholland, Robyn Lister, John Brooks, Laurence Causse – Parsley, Su Wen Seah, Jonathan Gray, Clive Croft, Amy Bridges, Miranda Pissarides, Tim Hill, H.A.S, Thomas Cox, Yuliya V Krylova, Malcolm Willett, Billy Riley and Gerard Byrne.
The Art of Regeneration is produced by founder of Focus LDN Thomas Cox in collaboration with independent curator Pandora Moloney.
